Piling works installed for Stage 2
Stage 2 of the project continues to progress well, with recent milestones including the installation of the piling works and all necessary berthing structures in place. The design of the pipeline section is underway. CentrePort expect to complete their wharf upgrade work in the 2nd half of 2025, with the pipeline replacement expected to take place in the 1st half of 2026.
Preferred route for Stage 3b selected
The preferred route for Stage 3b has been selected as shown in the [above] image. This section of the pipeline enables fuel to be received by the Hutt City Terminal on Port Road, and replaces the existing pipeline in Barnes Street. The proposed pipeline route will predominantly be buried in Port Road, Marchbanks and Toop Streets. The tendering process is currently underway, with construction expected to commence in May 2025 and taking approximately 12 months to complete.
Engaging with the community
As part of ongoing community engagement activity, representatives from Z Energy and CentrePort meet with the Eastbourne and Petone Community Board Meetings to provide a project update and answer all community questions. In addition to this, the Seaview Business Association was directly contacted and provided an overview of the works and an opportunity to discuss any relevant questions and concerns.
