December 2024

Current status of works
All major precast units have been installed and concrete poured. The installation of the new Quick Release Hooks on the new mooring dolphin structures rounds out the works for the year. In the new year, our focus will shift to seismic resilience improvements on the Main Wharf structure and the completion of stage 2 is still on track for mid-2025.
Point Howard Wharf Deconstruction (Hutt City Council project)
The entire decking, stringer and capping beams of the Point Howard wharf have been removed. Piles will start being cut off just above the seabed. Completion of the Point Howard Wharf demolition is expected early in the new year.
MBIE Seaview visit
In November, we welcomed the Gas and Fuel Markets Policy team from MBIE on-site to provide an update on the Seaview Energy Resilience Project. The visit provided an opportunity to see the progress in-person and answer any questions from the team.
Thanks to the team at Brian Perry Civil for helping accommodate the visit.
Shutdown dates over Christmas period
With the end of the year fast approaching, the team will be taking a well-deserved break from 20th December 2024 – 6th January 2025.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project over 2024 and wishing you all a happy holiday season.
